Nimbarka Sampradaya โ€” Her Spiritual Tradition

Devi Murlika Gaur is a devoted follower of the Nimbarka Sampradaya โ€” one of the four authorised Vaishnava Sampradayas and considered the oldest of them all. Founded by the great philosopher-saint Jagadguru Nimbarkacharya, this tradition is rooted in the philosophy of Dvaitadvaita (dualistic non-dualism) and places the worship of the divine couple Shri Radha and Shri Krishna at the very heart of its practice.

The sacred 16-word Maha Mantra of this tradition โ€” Radhe Krishna Radhe Krishna, Krishna Krishna Radhe Radhe | Radhe Shyam Radhe Shyam, Shyam Shyam Radhe Radhe || โ€” is central to her devotional life. Born and raised in Govardhan, one of the chief holy Kshetras of this sampradaya, she carries its living spirit in every katha she delivers.

Family & Lineage

She hails from a remarkable multi-generational lineage of katha vachaks:

  • Father: Pandit Hardayal Shastri Gaur โ€” renowned Katha Vachak and her Guru
  • Mother: Shrimati Padma Gaur
  • Grandfather: Pandit Damodar Shastri โ€” respected Katha Vachak
  • Great-Grandfather: Distinguished Katha Vachak โ€” the unbroken tradition of four generations
  • Grand-Uncle: Served as Mahant of Jharna, Mohtabad, Haryana

Guru & Spiritual Initiation

Devi Murlika Gaur was taught the art and devotion of Katha Vachan solely by her father, Pandit Hardayal Shastri Gaur, who serves as her Guru. Growing up in a household where the Katha tradition was not merely a vocation but the very breath of daily life, she absorbed the scriptures, devotional bhajans, and the sacred art of discourse from her earliest years.

Spiritual Journey โ€” First Katha at Age 16

At the young age of 16 years, Devi Murlika Gaur delivered her first Katha discourse, stepping fearlessly into the sacred tradition that her family had upheld across generations. Rooted in the Nimbarka Sampradaya's emphasis on Radha-Krishna devotion, her discourses carry the fragrance of Braj bhakti โ€” emotional, devotional, and deeply moving.

Specializations

  • Shrimad Bhagwat Katha
  • Shiv Mahapuran
  • Devi Bhagwat
  • Bhakt Charitra โ€” narratives of great devotees

Her discourses are delivered in Hindi, Braj Bhasha, Sanskrit and English โ€” making her teachings accessible to devotees across India and internationally.

Style of Delivery

What sets Devi Murlika Gaur apart is her deeply emotional style of katha delivery. She speaks not merely to the intellect but straight to the heart โ€” weaving together scriptural wisdom, devotional intensity, and genuine feeling in a way that moves her audience profoundly. Her kathas create a space where listeners feel the presence of the divine, not merely hear about it.

Personal Life

Devi Murlika Gaur is married to Shri Krishan Murari Sharma, a highly learned scholar who completed his schooling at a traditional Gurukul and went on to earn a PhD in Sanskrit. Their union beautifully embodies the meeting of deep-rooted tradition and scholarly excellence.

Social Work & Mission

Inspired by the Nimbarka Sampradaya's spirit of selfless service, she founded the Shree Ji Kripa Seva Foundation โ€” dedicated to providing essential seva to needy and underprivileged people. Her life mission is expressed simply:

"To help all needy people."

Through the Seva Foundation, she bridges the spiritual and the social โ€” living the belief that service to humanity is the highest expression of devotion to God.

"Seva is Sadhana. The path of the Divine runs through the hearts of those we help."
